However, according to UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, of the 7.1 million refugee children of school age, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unhcr.org\/steppingup\/\">3.7 million \u2013 more than a half \u2013 do not go to school<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>All EU Member States \u2013 especially Mediterranean countries such as Greece, Italy, Spain and Portugal, which have been experiencing massive influx of refugees during the last years \u2013 are facing the challenge of successfully integrating refugee children in their  <a href=\"https:\/\/www.affordable-papers.net\/\">education<\/a>  systems. Assessing these children\u2019s previous learning proves difficult in most cases, as many of them have no documentation of their previous school attainment and grades.<\/p>\n<p><strong>CIRCLE &#8211; \u201cInclusion of Refugee Children in Education\u201d<\/strong> project aims at supporting the inclusion of refugee \/ migrant children in education and reducing their drop-out level, by creating innovative tools that will allow education professionals to effectively assess and validate their prior learning, enabling thus the continuity of learning of newly arrived refugee\/migrant children.<\/p>\n<p>In this framework, <strong>three booklets<\/strong> were created &#8211; for <strong>Primary, lower Post Primary and upper Post Primary<\/strong> pupils \u2013 aiming to <strong>help teachers and educators assess these children\u2019s prior knowledge<\/strong>.
